An Unlikely Forty Year Adventure in Heavy Industry
What began as a search for a birthday present for her mother became one of Britain’s best-known ceramics businesses.
For our November Winter Warmer, Emma Bridgewater tells the remarkable story of building her much-loved brand over four decades, while championing traditional pottery production in Stoke-on-Trent.
Emma Bridgewater turned that chance search for a present into a hugely successful British ceramics business, today employing around 360 people. Along the way, she has built one of the country’s most distinctive and widely recognised homeware brands while keeping traditional pottery production at its heart.
